IMA 2011 Conference

Previous IMA Conferences

The first IMA Conference (IMA99), held in Chalkidiki in 1999, was a significant success since it hosted more than two hundred scientists from 24 countries around the world. It was the first time that such an International Conference on Analytical Techniques and Instrumentation took place in Greece under the cooperation of the leading Institutions in this field.

The IMA conference series is presented in the next Figure:

1st IMA 1999 Chalkidiki
2nd IMA 2001 Ioannina
3rd IMA 2003 Thessaloniki
4th IMA 2005 Iraklion
5th IMA 2007 Patras
6th IMA 2009 Athens
7th IMA 2011 Chania

The number of participants gradually increased and it was moved between 250-300 scientists. Last IMA (2009) was held in Athens and it was organized with considerable success by the Laboratories of Analytical Chemistry of the National University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens.

The seventh IMA Conference (IMA 2011) will be held in Chania (Greece), the 2nd major city of Crete. The event will be organised by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh) and the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of the Technical University of Crete, with the support and cooperation of all Analytical Laboratories of Greek Universities.

The conference will take place in MAICh Conference Center that combines first class standards of comfort and service with the latest technology in a prestigious location. It is situated in a picturesque, typical Mediterranean pine-tree forest setting, 3 km south-east of the city of Chania, 13 km from the international airport and 1 km from the port.
