MAICH Library - Services, facilities & policies
Search OPAC (the Online Public Access Catalogue) to locate books and other material (journal titles, conference proceedings, theses, etc.) available at the Library. Library holds theses and articles in full-text via OPAC.
Search a selection of useful free Databases, for articles, ebooks and other resources.
Note that course/teaching materials are on MAICh’s Intranet provided by Secretariat.
Request journal articles: Students and staff can request free copies of articles from journals via email (email@example.com). They must provide the complete citation (title/author/source/date).
Request books: The study coordinators are entitled to order books using the Book Order Form signed by the Director.
Registration: Current students are registered with the Library by their enrolment in the Institute.
Students are allowed to borrow 3 items per time. The loan period is 15 days and may be extended twice, unless another user has requested the same item.
There is a fine of 0.15€ per day for any overdue item. Please check the due date of every item you borrow.
Staff may borrow items for an unlimited period of time, but they have to renew them once a year. In case of some service necessities as an inventory or other recalls, they should return the items.
All users must return all borrowed items before leaving the Institute.
Recall and overdue notices are sent by email.
Some collections as Journals, Master Theses and Reference Books are not available for outside circulating. They are for reference only and may be used only in the Library.
Lost / damaged materials
Users shall be held responsible for any loss, or damage of Library material that is in their possession, and may be required to pay the full costs of replacement or repair. Material that is available on the market is replaced with an identical copy at user’s expense ; otherwise it is replaced with one of similar content and value.
There is a quiet study room.
There are 2 computers connected to the internet, available for users.
WiFi (wireless internet access) is free to anyone with a laptop or mobile device.
A black-and-white photocopier available for users to print, copy and scan materials at 0,05 € per page. Users are responsible for the correct maintenance of the terms of the current Greek law for the Copyright and the relative rights (Ν. 2121/1993).
With the exception of beverages in covered containers, food is not permitted in the study room.
Bags of any kind may be left in the Library’s office before entering the Study Room.
Users are asked not to put back books, journals, etc. on the shelves and they should left them on the tables after use.
